Six ways Forward Ministry serves the spiritual, economic and social needs of the people of Rangwe and beyond.
Forward Ministry reaches out to people outside Forward church with the word of God. This is done at various forums including secondary schools, home missions organized once a month, Bodaboda groups, and local market centers for outdoor evangelism.
Bibles are distributed after a church leaders meeting where pastors, bishops, deacons and other church leaders are trained. Most of the church leaders we interact with lack Bibles, and even those with Bibles have copies that are worn out and have been handed down from generation to generation. Having a Bible in their local language is a teasured possession, and means they can better read the Word of God.
The ministry reaches out to marginalised unreached ethnic groups periodically.
The church organizes 4-day youth retreats every December. Youths from all over the country join at Forward Church and Resource Center for two days of teaching and two days at an island for recreation and Bible study. They get to hear the true gospel and get a beach experience.
These conferences happen three times every year, where pastors and church workers are trained for a week residing at the Resource Center. During their stay, their meals and accommodation are catered. The training equips them with books and Christian literature to become better teachers of the Word of God in their churches and communities.
Project 777 aims to provide decent housing to vulnerable people in the community, especially widows and child-led households. The name comes from the dollar amount needed to construct a house: $777.
The house is made of mud walls and an iron roof. The whole construction process usually takes a day to complete, meaning the beneficiary can move from their old, dilapidated house into a new one on the same day.
